WASTED ORIENT: The Official Rock n' Roll Film of Joyside
This film is what it is.
Some loved it.
Some criticized it.
Unfortunately a bit of criticism was unnecessarily hurtful.
So be it.
They are forgiven.

I've always prescribed to the idea that
1.) if you have nothing good to say then say nothing at all
and
2.) if you don't like the film, don't watch it.
The guess is that not everyone follows this rule.

WASTED ORIENT may not be a positive story.
This was not the intention of the filmmakers.
It was simply to show the story as it was, how it still is, and what it may continue to be like in that setting.
It is about the first tour of the band JOYSIDE.
They have since the film release broken up twice---the last time (2009) for good.

The band was probably fed up with their lack of success.
Should they be criticized for that?
No.
Should the film be criticized?
Maybe.  If you want to be someone that criticizes others for attempting to create something entertaining.

Great things can be done if we are determined and it is my hope that whatever you try to accomplish, that it is positive, and that you continue to have confidence in your abilities.
Don't give up on positive endeavors.

This film was made for less than $300 U.S. and it of course has many flaws but it was a good attempt.
It sounds cliche because it is, but the future will be brighter.

Still there is absolutely nothing to be ashamed of with regards to this film WASTED ORIENT.
Out of this film I personally have gotten over a dozen freelance opportunities and 3 full-time jobs.

Did the film make money?
Not for me, or the other filmmakers, or the band.
Did other people unrelated make money off of it?
Most likely yes and DEFINTELY yes.

So what?
Doesn't matter.
Let them live with their dishonesty.

Was it all a success?
This film was a success to me.
It played publicly in no less than 29 U.S. States, 35 countries, 53 film festivals and counting, won 3 awards, and was mentioned in countless newspapers, magazines, websites, and has been a wonderful conversation piece that has sparked many friendships.
